We’re psyched to have Santa Fe Boomeranger Luca Marino-Baker share the story of Bow Wow Haus, an idea 10+ years in the making that started to come together in 2018 after he gave his dream the attention it needed to develop while going through MIX’s bizMIX accelerator program. The process of pitching his ideas over the course of the accelerator led Luca to hone in on doggy + kitty doors and helped him realize that he could use his hometown connections with realtors, builders, designers, and makers to start the boutique business he had on his brain since college.
As a trained architect, Luca designs and builds all of his high-end Barkitectural products right here in Santa Fe. His commitment to quality materials, craftsmanship, and local production have led Luca to utilize local manufacturing resources Extraordinary Structures and makerspace MAKE Santa Fe. He even kept it local by taking advantage of a free website-building workshop offered by NM TechWorks to create Bow Wow Haus’s hot new website.
Luca’s background as an architect, love of design, passion for working with clients, and love of doggies (he has three) is why he cares so dang much about Bow Wow Haus’s custom and off-the-shelf Barkitectural products, as well as the local installation coordination and design consultation he delivers.
And since Luca loves him some Kombucha, but has yet to try HoneyMoon Brewery, we’re going back! It’s been 8+ months since KAESF celebrated the grand opening of HoneyMoon in the Solana Center with owners Ayla Bystrom-Williams and James Hill, so they’ll give us a little update as to what it’s been like brewing and serving up their scrumptious Honeymoon Artisanal Alcoholic Kombucha (as well as other local beers and wine) in the City Different.
