I’d been seeing Broken Arrow Glass mentioned more and more lately, but still wasn’t exactly sure what they did. Well, now that I know more, I’m beyond thrilled to share some of the gist with you and announce that founders Shelby Kaye and Chris Bogle will share their story and more on the 12th (shifted from the 1st to the 2nd Thursday so you can celebrate Cinco de Mayo and still get in some schmoozing and Story Time in May).
Broken Arrow Glass is NM’s 1st ever creative glass recycling program and they wanna create a community around this work. Husband-and-wife team, Chris and Shelby, turn used waste glass recycling into handcrafted home goods and raw crushed glass material for use in eco construction, landscaping and art materials. Their goal is zero waste, and they’ve tailored their design and process around that. Shelby and Chris partner with stand-out local businesses here in SF and Taos, such as our favorite, HoneyMoon Brewery, who upcycle all of their customer returned bottles into functional and chic drinkware, so your purchase not only helps the environment, but supports two businesses at once.
And what about keeping your glass recycling out of the landfill and, instead, having it conveniently picked up from your doorstep? Now you can, with their doorstep glass recycling collection membership.
Now, I don’t know about you, but I’m dyin’ to know even more about Shelby and Chris’s business and hear their story, so mark your calendar and get ready to map your way to Tiny's Restaurant & Lounge. Open since 1950 and ready to serve you 7-days a week, Tiny’s is an old-school, local, family-owned fixture offering Native New Mexican fare, a full bar, a big ol’ dance floor, regular live music and, if you haven’t yet, you have to have yourself at least one story from Tiny’s that involves their Saturday night karaoke. I do. So, plan to order some fantastic food, grab a drink and head to the patio to schmooze between 6:30 and 7, before we kick off Story Time around 7 PM, followed by time for more schmoozing. Yippee!!! See you then.
DRIVING NOTE: Tiny’s is located at the SE corner of Cerrillos & St. Francis, but you can’t turn in from Cerillos, so plan to enter via St. Francis.
